Thanks a million to everyone who came and partied at the Alternation clubnight over the years at The Kambar. We had a great time doing it and it couldn't have happened for nearly 7 years without you. We have now stopped doing these nights but have some rather special plans for later in the year, and we're putting on some bands we love over the next couple of months too.
The website in its current form will be changing over the next few weeks, both stylistically and content-wise, we'll keep you up to date with the changes once they have kicked in, until then we have taken our event listings down as we simply don't have time to update them properly. A new system will be up soon which should be much more up to date.
And so to these gigs... The next gig we are promoting is a co-promo with Green Mind for the prog-tastic
Pure Reason Revolution on Tuesday 6th March 2007 at The Loft, Cambridge. We love this band and their beautifully sculpted tunes...
think Pink Floyd meets Muse. More details on the rest of line-up will be coming soon.
Tickets £6 advance (from The Junction, We Got Tickets or See Tickets) or £7 door.
Fi-Lo Beddow (Mark Morriss from The Bluetones) - Friday 6th April @ The Portland Arms , Cambridge
He played for us last year at one of our favourite gigs, so we had to get him back. An extremely funny and articultae mand playing a great selection of Bluetones tracks, solo numbers and covers.
Michael J Sheehy and the Hired Mourners, The Mary Epworth Band + Ellie Walker - Friday 11th May @ The Portland Arms , Cambridge
The hugely underrated Michael J Sheehy returns to Cambridge for the first time in a few years with a brand spanking new album out. The former Dream City Film Club frontman's 4th Solo album and first since leaving Beggars Banquet sees him maintain the form that has enamoured so many fans. Support comes from the fabulous Mary Epworth Band, proving that there is life after the Broken Family Band and the rising talent of Ellie Walker. Probably gig of the year in Cambridge.
In the words of Bob Dylan... "Just remember that death is not the end"
With love and thanks,
